Great news for all of us Martin fans. BAFTA has announced through their twitter account that Martin Freeman will be joining them next June 22nd at BAFTA Piccadilly for their now iconic “A Life in Pictures” to talk about his longstanding career across film and television, with credits including Sherlock, The Office and Black Panther.
Martin will be hosting his very own BBC Radio 6 Music show in the slot that is usually covered by Guy Garvey and that has been covered by Cillian Murphy since March this year.
Martin will be presenting from July 14th until August 4th in the 2pm – 4pm slot (UK Time).
We will post more information when it becomes available, so far this is the press release from the BBC.
Not much is known about this film yet. One of the things is that the title could be “We Interrupt This Program”. The second one, according to the website picking up this news is that only Martin Freeman has signed up for the project yet as the studio is still courting other cast members.
The film is said to “explore the chaos of creative genius that results in the infamous Orson Welles’s radio broadcast of WAR OF THE WORLDS” and “digs into the stormy relationship between Welles and his producer, John Houseman, and how they nearly derail what would become the most influential radio broadcast in history.”
Martin Freeman is said to be cast as the famous producer John Houseman.
Fingers crossed that we get more news soon.
